MEX Impact 2007

And off we go to Mexico. We will be leaving right after church tomorrow morning. Then it is a long week of work and service. I am truly very apprehensive about this trip. I'm very nervous and scared. The Lord is faithful. He is good. He will be with me every step of the trip. Please pray for us. Please pray that I will trust the Lord fully for everything. Pray that we don't get sick, hurt or injured in any way. Pray that souls will recieve Jesus. Thanks. I will update as soon as I get back. We return on Saturday afternoon.

1st grade is fun

I was in 1st grade 3 days last week. I was at the same school all 3 times. It was a lot of fun! On Monday, I had a fun group and then after school another 1st grade teacher asked if I would work for her the next day. She was sick. I said yes and worked for her on Tuesday. Such fun. The cool thing is that I got to teach them how to catch...I who cannot really catch at all. It was all in good fun though.

And then on Friday, I was requested for the same class. They were talkative but so fun. The teacher came in during the day (she was there but in meetings all day) and she was impressed by the way I handled the class...so impressed she wanted to tell the principal about me. I was pretty excited! It may work to my advantage. Lord willing. Who knows...

We have a new GAPer. Kyle from the youth group graduated from high school on Thursday. Yeah!! Congrats to him. So he is the new GAPer. Last night we had a birthday party for Ashley at BJs and had a great time. Gabe came out from AZ to visit and was able to join us along with his friend that came with him, Eric. Eric was an incredible blessing to us and such a joy to get to know. I'll hopefully be posting pics of all this stuff soon. I'm getting stuff from Grace soon so they will be up accordingly. :)

And for the record....I was sitting outside today and that darn mockingbird landed right in front of me. It was all I could do not to wring it's neck. I don't like that bird!!

Pictures....finally....and only two of them. :P

We played at Mulligans again. You can see us all except Kyle. He's behind the speaker. Lots of fun! Over 40 songs in one night. Many of them repeated at least once. I had no voice the next day...and we had to sing at yet another funeral. Fun times!

Yeah!! Chris graduated from Cal State Long Beach. Another alumni. This is the GAP picture of all us GAPers that made it. :)

And there would be more pics...there will be more when I get them from Grace. There were a few more events...a bbq and some other parties. Such fun~!

Cool Happenings

Well as I said before, I did not get called at all last week. Then yesterday, since I didn't get called by about 9:30, I went to Anaheim to pick something up from my dad at work. While I was there, work called and wanted me to be at the school as soon as possible. Well as soon as possible was going to be in about 1.5-2 hours...not what they needed. I was kinda frustrated because the desire to work is definitely there, but they call me at bad times and stuff....AHHH!! So I was praying that the Lord would allow me to work today because I can't tomorrow or Friday. They called this morning and told me they had a half day available. I figured that was better than nothing so I went. Right when I was ready to go, they told me they had more work at the same school. SOOOO I ended up with a full day instead of a half day. $50 more bucks in my pocket. Praise God!! He is so faithful to supply every need.

It's been 2 months today since Mike died. I had a good cry over it all. I miss him so much. Another older lady at Carson died on Sunday. Her funeral is on Saturday and we have been asked to do music at that funeral also. Praise God that we can help in such a way. This is my third funeral in 2 months. Amazing! God is good in all things, isn't He??!!

No Work

I haven't worked for almost 1 1/2 weeks. The Lord is faithful though. My old job at the construction company said that they could use me again, so maybe I can work for them and bring in a little cash. We'll see...

Nothing on the job front. I haven't heard anything from Long Beach Unified. We'll see what happens there too...

"Down in Front" is playing at Mulligans on Friday. It will be different without Mike. There have been quite a few times the last week that I missed him so incredibly. How hard is that!! God is faithful though.

Rich, you are right. God did make the mockingbird. I like my sleep....but I guess I won't get in the way of his praising God. :) haha You made me laugh!!

I will get pictures on here soon. They are all on my sisters computer (they are actually from my sisters camera because I don't have one). I'm working on it.

I begin my Spanish lessons on Thursday. I want to learn Spanish and the missions trip is motivating me to actually do something about that. My best friend knows a guy that speaks Spanish and wants to learn the piano. So we are going to swap skills starting on Thursday. I'm excited!!! I'll let you know how it goes. Pray that the Spanish sticks in my brain in an effective way. People at church are always trying to teach me stuff and then I just forget it. Pray that it sticks. :)

Pictures to come soon...I promise!!!!

To Kill a Mockingbird

If you want to kill one, come to my house. We have an insanely annoying mockingbird that lives in our backyard or somewhere close to it. It was singing all night last night. I will reward you. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
